The history of Maison Manahan

Maison Manahan is the result of a shared passion and a meeting of minds. On the one hand, Tom, a butcher by trade and the son of a breeder, has been immersed in butchering traditions since childhood. On the other, Estelle, who has a wealth of experience in supermarket distribution, dreams of doing business with local produce.

In 2019, their shared vision will come to fruition with the opening of this butcher, delicatessen and caterer in Bellac. It’s a venture with a real purpose: to promote the work of local producers and give people easier access to healthy, tasty food.

At the heart of Maison Manahan’s commitment is the desire to pass on a rich culinary heritage. By perpetuating the ancestral skills of traditional butchery, the team breathes new life into this precious know-how.

Apprentices trained with passion, educational activities in schools… Here, we cultivate the art of eating well in a short circuit. More than just a business, it’s a way of forging lasting links with the community, with support for local associations, local deliveries and involvement in local projects.

Tom

Tom has been running the butcher's shop with his wife Estelle for the last 10 years, infusing his passion for the trade into every piece of work he does. A butcher since he was 18, this mischievous Englishman has no qualms about concocting a few British specialities to the delight of gourmets. When he's not wielding a knife, he's dribbling on the football pitch.

Estelle

A true pillar of the company, Estelle is the accomplished manager who runs the business with a master's hand. A former manager, this rugbywoman at heart will welcome you with her legendary humour and innate sense of service.

Nicolas

Nicolas

A butcher for over 20 years, Nicolas' seasoned experience brings flavour and precision to the creations of Boucherie Manahan. A former colleague of Tom's, this passionate butcher and fisherman infuses boldness and creativity into his recipes.

Frédéric

Frédéric, alias Nono

The grandson of a restaurateur, cooking is second nature to Frédéric. A chef for over 20 years, this lover of fresh produce sublimates home-cured meats and charcuterie with an innate talent. Lovers of rugby and cycling will find in him an ideal partner.

Natacha

Natacha

With her devastating smile and infectious humour, Natacha is the sparkling newcomer to the team after a successful career change. A former teacher with a passion for ballroom dancing and rugby, she made a 180-degree turn when she joined the butcher's shop a year ago.

Oliver

Oliver

An apprentice since August 2024, Oliver is a discreet but talented young Englishman who loves being in France.
A keen rugby player, this enables him to maintain his rigour at work despite his young age. He has been passionate about butchery since the age of 11, and has always wanted to go into this trade.

Louis

Louis

At just 16, Louis is already an outstanding butcher. 4ᵉ in the national competition for best apprentice in 2024, this young prodigy combines precocious talent with an all-consuming passion for butchery and hunting.

Maria

Maria

You won't see much of the butcher's doyenne, as she's in the kitchen with Frédéric. Her job: kitchen assistant, but above all her speciality is making English dishes and savoury pastries. Passionate about cooking with her partner. The two of them can't fail to delight you.
